Meet Dr. Thomas N. Robeson, MD at Oyster Point Family Practice in Newport News, VA

Dr. Robeson is a native of Newport News, Virginia. He graduated from Tabb High School and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Old Dominion University right here in Norfolk, Virginia. He received his M.D. from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. After completion of his medical degree he returned to Newport News for his family practice residency and training at Riverside Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Robeson is also a Certified Lipidologist – one of only four east of Richmond, Virginia. He uses a more in-depth cholesterol screening for his patients than other physicians which helps him to recognize patients at risk for cardiovascular disease or events, (heart attacks) better than a basic screening does. In addition to being very knowledgeable about lipids, he is also very adept at treating diabetes and migraines and many other diseases and he strives to remain current on the constantly evolving treatments for a multitude of both chronic and acute disease states. In his spare time, he also serves as a Medical Examiner for the surrounding area.

He and his wife, Tracy, have three grown children and a golden retriever. He enjoys tinkering with personal computers, shooting sports and is an avid fan of Star Trek. Also, he is very active in his church, Bethel Baptist, singing in the choir, serving as a Deacon and occasionally teaching Sunday School.
